LED Facials

LED facials are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin tone, texture and clarity.

Have you heard of Led Light Therapy?

This is an ideal treatment  to compliment your skincare regime. Whether you are wanting to improve radiance, luminosity and overall skin health or to fight acne-causing bacteria.

So, what is Led Light therapy?

Are you thinking that sounds very space age?

Well it is, as the science behind it comes from N.A.S.A. technology  who used light therapy to treat astronauts who incurred injuries in space performing their required tasks. The normal healing process is negatively affected by micro-gravity. They found Led helped increase the rate of wound healing and reduced the risk of injuries in space becoming catastrophes.

How does it work?

Think of the light as a battery charger for compromised cells. The Led light source provides the cells with added energy so the performance of the cells is enhanced.

I like to use the analogy:  to make your skin extremely healthy our cells need the energy to function like a car needs petrol and a battery to run.

The same goes for your skin cells to work optimally,  fully charged battery is required.

FAQ

Why are there different coloured lights?

The Celluma panel uses three wavelengths which have different penetration depths. The longer the wavelength deeper the penetration into the skin.

Blue Light: this is the shortest wavelength and penetrates the surface of the skin causing the P.Acnes bacteria, a contributory factor in breakouts and acne to be destroyed.

Red Light: penetrates down into the dermis to stimulate fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Near-Infrared: penetrates deep into the subcutaneous layer to decrease inflammation. In doing so helping with aches and pains.

Does the treatment hurt?

No, the treatment is painless, very relaxing, you may even fall asleep.

What is the recommended treatment plan?
  • 2-3 sessions per week for a four week period and then weekly or monthly to maintain.
  • Benefits will continue to improve in subsequent weeks.
